Pakistani Light Sussex Heritage

 Pakistani Light Sussex Heritage is one the best in its own kind. It can lay 250 big sized eggs of net weight nearly to 85 grams. Male weight goes to 4.5 or sometime more than of 4 Kilos Grams While female is kind of smaller than male. Female can have weight upto 3.5 Kilos Grams. 

Appearance: 

It has very unique appearance, which differentiate this breed with other breeds. It has  beautiful hackle around its neck. This hackle shows up as some dim black petals around the neck. It has white body clour, and its main identification is its pinkish white legs. 

 Food:

Light Sussex Heritage can eat all type of food but their favorite is to eat high protein diet. These birds have more weight thats why they keep eating. They are humble to whatever you give them. They are routine birds also whatever you make their routine. They would keep eating whole of their lives. 

Common Diseases

Coryza is one of the main problem with these birds especially in Pakistan. The best solution to this disease is to keep them at a place where temperature is between 28 to 32. They feel comfortable in warm room setting. They react badly to weather change. 

Other common disease is their indigestion which can cause birds to high mortality. 

Setup

As Light Sussex Heritage is imported breed it needs proper temperature maintenance with perfect ventilation system. It would be very successful in sheds for meat and eggs production. 

Adult Age

Egg laying age in this precious breed is 5 to 6 months. It keeps laying eggs till 3 years in full capacity. Egg laying depends on the condition and environment provided to the bird. 

  Suitability with Pakistani Environment 

Pakistani Poultry farmers try to keep this breed in brooder for longer time period. It causes this breed low immunity. Pakistani Temperature is not that much. This breed may have problem in summers but it should not have problems in winters.

Advise to New Farmers

New Farmers should buy chicks in summers as it would be less costly for them to nourish chicks. This method would save them lots of cost.
